Hymn tells the story of personal loss through the lens of mythology, religion, fairy tale and poem. It is a romantic revenge and a hope for a redemptive ritual. Hymn is about Karl, it is about Orpheus and Eurydice and about the section about them in Metamorphoses that Karl read aloud, the book was still laying open at this page in his apartment after his death. Hymn is about death and about love, about Dido who died of grief. About breaking the laws of nature and about accepting them. It is about anger turned to guilt and about revenge against the gods. About the comfort of faith and about distrust of God. Hymn is a wedding, a seance, a funeral and a renaissance. It is about continuing to live.
